The campaign for electoral reforms in Nigeria , otherwise known as One Man, One Vote will berth at Akoka Edo LGA on 28th of May 2010.
The Senior Special Adviser to Edo Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Prince John Mayaki in a statement yesterday said the first leg of the internalisation and domestication of One Man, One Vote rally held in Benin City recently would continue in Igarra, the administrative headquatres of Akoka Edo LGA of Edo state.
According to Mayaki, “the sensitisation tour of the local government area commenced yesterday and would continue till Sunday with a visit to all the stakeholders and agents of change in our electoral reforms to deepen our democratic experience.
“The sensitisation train would visit all the traditional institutions in Akoka Edo , political parties leaders, Christian and Islamic bodies , opinion moulders in the various communities, road union workers and owners, NGOs, NUT, amongst others.
We will seek active participation towards the program and also enlighten them on the imperatives of the sanctity of the electoral box. We want them to imbibe the core values of the doctrine of One Man, One Vote in our body polity and to making sure that our votes count in subsequent elections.â€
