Former Eagles’ Chief Coach, Shaibu Amodu, who qualified the team for next month’s 2010 World Cup, has been approved to join the squad to South Africa. He is however going there as a delegate.
Amodu’s approval to be in South Africa as one of the four Football Ambassadors was approved after the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Association’s nocturnal meeting Wednesday at the NFA secretariat.
While responding to questions after the NFA board meeting, Shehu Adamu said Amodu’s inclusion in the team was in recognition of his efforts at qualifying the Eagles for the finals of the 2010 World Cup.
“He ( Amodu) is to earn estacode like other delegates to the World Cup and not match bonus or any other payment due to the players and technical crew.
“He is also to partake in the share of 25 per cent of the World Cup bonus coming from Fifa for the participation, alongside players and members of technical crewâ€, Shehu Adamu said after the meeting that was concluded at 9.15pm at the NFA secretariat.
