Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has said recently that the N200b Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme (CACS) would boost growth in the agriculture sector, if well implemented.
He said this in his address at the 4th Agric Banks Forum of the African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (AFRACA) in Abuja, where he was represented by the Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, Suleiman Barau.
Sanusi said the money was raised through bonds to finance large-scale agricultural enterprises, saying that the scheme formed an important component of the Commercial Agricultural Development Programme (CADP) which was initiated in 2008.
