Iloanusi, Iorfa tip Owumi to succeed

Ex-international, Chikelue Iloanusi is still popping up champagne at the emergence of fellow ex-international, Davidson Owumi as the Chairman of Nigeria Premier League. “This is the beginning of good things for Nigerian football”, Iloanusi exclaimed.

He said that Owumi was the best candidate for the job because of his knowledge of the game and his administrative acumen. “We are talking of a man who played the best football for this country.

We are talking of a sound and accomplished administrator who turned the fortunes of Rangers International around. He knows the game and will definitely impact positively on the Nigerian league”. Iloanusi urged Corporate Organisations to rally round the man called “Okada” in his hey days because of speed, skill and ferocious shots.

Also, Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Dominic Iorfa says the new board of the Nigeria Premier League has all the potentials of improving the domestic game in the country.

Iorfa noted that the calibre of people on the new board will further raise the standard of the Premier League in the country.

“Last Saturday, I witnessed the fairest election into board of the Nigeria Premier League and from that moment, I knew that all will be well with our league again.

‘I know they will succeed because they have young men that are experienced in the game. The new Chairman of NPL, Davidson Owumi is somebody I have known for a long time.

“After doing his best for Rangers, he managed the team to play in the continent for five years. That is why he is the best man to lead the Premier League at this period.
