Cotecna Destination Inspection Limited (CDIL) has scaled up efforts towards adequate training of personnel of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in fulfilment of its agreement signed with the federal government on Destination Inspection (DI) scheme.
To this end, the firm has completed training of another batch of NCS officers seconded to it for the specialized Valuation and Classification training and were given their certificates recently.
The event which held at Cotecna office in Abuja , was the second in its series producing about twenty well_trained senior customs officers. The secondment program entails a two_month intensive on_the_job training in best practices covering highly technical areas including valuation, classification, verification and appropriate duty assessment for the government.
While presenting certificates to the graduating officers, Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, Alhaji Abdullahi Diko stressed the need for adequate training and retraining of officers constantly as the new global trend in business is knowledge_based economy.
The CGC who was represented by CGC Comptroller Bawa Suleiman expressed appreciation to Cotecna Destination Inspection for the quality of training offered to the officers. The Customs chief charged the graduands to put into good use all they have learnt for the benefit of the service and the country at large.
