Cleric blames N-Delta crisis on satanic forces

By Samuel Oyadongha
Yenagoa—President of the Interdenominational Christian Fellowship, Pastor Nat McDaniel, has blamed the  intractable crisis in the oil and gas rich Niger Delta on satanic influence.

The cleric called on the people of the region, especially Bayelsans, to return to God, saying the land needed spiritual cleansing to be free from bondage.

Pastor McDaniel, who spoke to newsmen in Yenagoa, lamented that Bayelsa State since creation had been bedeviled by series of political crises which he blamed on satanic forces.

He said:  “It is only when the righteous rules that the people could rejoice.

“The Lord showed me specific places in the Niger Delta where there are bloodbaths caused by  witches and wizards as well as occult men. The Lord said to me, ‘go to these places and uproot these blood sacrifices through prayers’, and that is just the reason why we are here.”

The cleric who said they have rounded off a five-day crusade in Yenagoa, added that they would also go to Kaiama and Brass areas of the state for prayer sessions.

“In every city, there is a satanic force that controls a particular city. We have spoken to the forces and they have obeyed. There are witches and wizards, spiritual wickedness controlling the people because of what the Lord has put in these places,” he said.

“God has put all these natural resources in the region, but instead of embracing the good work of God, people resorted to idolatry. It is written that any person that practices the sin of idolatry will be visited even up to the fourth generation”, he lamented.

He therefore called on the leadership from the region especially Bayelsans to embrace God so that the blessings of God would be fully manifested in the land.
