Yenagoa— Action Congress, AC, yesterday, condemned the bomb blast that rocked Yenagoa, the state capital, describing the action as a threat to security of lives and property.
Acting Chairman of the party, Comrade Miriki Ebikibina, in a statement, said though no life was lost in the incident, residents of the state could not afford to be subjected to such traumatic ordeal.
The statement read in part: “Following the car bomb in Kpansia community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, AC expresses worry on this frightening trend which is capable of breaching security in the state, especially as the 2011 elections approach.
“The party not only condemned the unwholesome act in its entirety, coming on the heels of various security threats to life and property in the state, the increasing wave of crime and the attack on defenceless serving youth corps members in the state call for serious concern and should be given prompt attention by the state and security operatives.
“It is also worrisome and unhelpful that the relative peace in the state is greatly threatened and endangered by the growing level of sophisticated crime in the state.â€
