Anabel Mobile to host Badminton tourney

The  first African indigenous mobile phone maker,  Anabel Mobile, has thrown its  weight behind the development of sports in Nigeria by  partnering with   Ikoyi Club to organise an open Badminton tournament for school age children and adults.

The tournament, according to the Chief Executive Officer of the smart phone maker, Mr. Nicholas Okoye, who spoke to news men yesterday in Lagos  to unfold details of the event, is slated for  September this year.

The theme of  the  tournament ,  “Flex it, say it be it”, he said is to encourage the Nigerian youths  to appreciate  the value of sports and to promote their interest in information technology. All participants  who qualify for the final rounds, he said,  will   leave the tournament with an Anabel product thereby having a feel of the Anabel world.

“Anabel Professional series devices are on record as being the first smart phone design to be focused entirely on Africa and the emerging Markets, they have been accredited and approved for sale in Nigeria by the  Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and we believe that to be a testament to the World Class standards that we will continue to meet with our products as well as the regulatory environment we intend to abide by” he said.

“Anabel’s support for Sports development is a testament to its commitment to young people.”  Also speaking ahead of  the tournament, the  Tournament Officer of  Anabel, Ms. Belinda Effar said,  “Sports Development is very important for Nigeria and the more you encourage young people to abide by the spirit of competition, the more we as a nation will succeed. Anabel is committed to sports development in Nigeria”.
