Why no opposition in Kwara – PDP

Ilorin — The Chairman  of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State, Alhaji  Yusuf  Ayedun, has said that the disappearance  of opposition parties in the state was due to the quality leadership of the incumbent governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki, which he noted, has met the yearnings and aspirations of all stakeholders in the state.

Ayedun, while speaking with newsmen yesterday on the development going on in the state, also noted that the people of Kwara State are satisfied with the  leadership style of Dr. Saraki, stressing that the state has never had it so good in terms of overall development since its creation.

“The  governor  always  make himself  available  to the people irrespective of their background. He is not a person they only see on the screen.

“They always have the opportunity to meet with him one-on-one so that they can express their views on the activities of the state government,” he said.

He added that there  is no  state in the country  that runs an open door policy  like  Kwara state adding that  it is only in Kwara that all  the people  starting  from  the wards would  be  assemble  to  discuss  their  problems  and areas they need attention  from government.
He said  the  governor  also  ensures  there is free flow of information among  the  party members and the  leaders  saying such has to some extent  reduced tension and suspicion among them.

He  also  explained  that  the  attention  given  to the welfare  of the people by  the governor  as well as  the infrastructural  development  of the area which  include road construction, building of hospitals and provision of equipments, agricultural transformation  as well as rural electrification has to some extent  changed  the  position of the state .

He said once people got what they wanted and the issue of thuggery, armed robbery, cultism and other social vices have been eradicated every where then will be in peace.

On  the peace  enjoyed within the party in the state  the Chairman  attributed it to  the leaders God has blessed the state with.

He  said  it is only  in Kwara that things are working  the way  they should  be as it is the only state in the federation where  leaders lead  the people in the right direction .

Meanwhile Governor Bukola Saraki has appointed a new Secretary to the state government SSG in the person of Alh Saka Isau [SAN] former Attorney general and Commissioner for Justice in the state. He took over from Alh Abdulganiyu Cook Olododo who was redeployed as the Chef of Staff in the government house.

The appointments according to the press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Alh Mas’ud Adebimpe take immediate effect.
