The Minister and Chairman National Sports Commission, Ibrahim Isa Bio, through Patrick Ekeji, the Director of Sports, at the inauguration of the boards of Paralympics sports federations told the board Paralympians to come up with programmes and activities that would enhance the discovery of athletes that could win laurels for the country at international sporting competitions.
Bio stated that with the inauguration of the boards, the federations have been given separate and independent power as required by the International Paralympics Committee to perform.
He pointed out that his charge was based on the policy of the present leadership in the NSC to maintain zero tolerance to vices that have in the past years dented the country’s image.
“I enjoin you to assist our nation in repositioning sports for the physically challenged in Nigeria; an area we have done tremendously well in the past to lay a solid foundation in order to win laurels for the country at international engagements.”
