I’ve not left PDP, by Nnamani

By Emmanuel Aziken

Abuja—  Erstwhile Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has described as pure mischief insinuations that his Ebeano political group has left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Responding to media claims of the imminent exit of the Ebeano political group from the PDP to the Progressive Peoples Alliance PPA, Senator Nnamani in a statement yesterday said the Ebeano group remained firm within the dominant PDP.

“The Ebeano Group remains within the political PDP umbrella and any attempt to define the group as otherwise is pure mischief,” Senator Nnamani who inspired the Ebeano phenomenon asserted.

Until his exit from office as Governor the Ebeano political family was the dominant political group within the PDP in Enugu State and orchestrated the election of all the politicians elected into federal and state offices at the last round of elections in 2007.

The influence of the group has, however, been on the downturn since the enthronement of Governor Sullivan Chime as Governor of Enugu State in 2007 as he distanced himself from the group.
