Musical Songstress, now popularly addressed by her colleagues as Her Excellency is not yet done with entertainment and the Entertainment Industry.
Last week during an encounter with the pretty lady of the Mic., at Festac basedÂ RockView Hotel, theÂ singer of the popular air wave ruled Oko Mi song track revealed yet, her another plan to take the huge Lagos entertainment crowd by storm as she introduce a newÂ entertainment menu called, Hook Up Show.
Billed to kick off at the prestigious Tube and Lounge, Alausa Business District, Ikeja, next week Friday, the show according to the Delta State born and University of Ife graduate of TheatreÂ Arts is designed to fill up someÂ vacuums in the musical entertainment industry, even as it will help to showcase some veryÂ talented female artists in Nigeria.
Monye, who three years ego foundedÂ the Women Help Initiative Nigeria, (WHIN), a non governmental organization, which targets at mobilizing the creative talents of female artists, whose careers are dwarfed or terminated by circumstances above their control, explained that the music industry is now being short changed in the new emerging market in the entertainment turf following the dominance of the market by comedian artists.
Emphasizing her point with AY SHOWÂ showing at an LCD television Screen mounted at the Swimming Pool side of the hotel, where we sat, Stella noted that something is really missing.â€ Can you see this? The industry is now taken over by comedians. And they now hire us as back up artists. Can you see what I mean by vacuum existence?â€
The energetic artist, whose NGO gave birth to the ambitious 1000 mics with membership drawn from female artists from across Africa and the Caribbeans further revealed that the planned bi monthly show, which arrangements have also been concluded for its television edition, promises to be a really surprising, fun filled show planned to draw guests from the climes ofÂ comedians, actors and actresses, sports etc etc.
The idea, according to Stella,â€ is to create surprises and intrigues: such that members of the audience are not supposed to know the hook upÂ Guest until they arrive at the show.â€ While, this style serves as an aesthetic tool of surprise, it also helps usÂ to give some security to the presence of our guest until the opening of the show as we plan to bring around real big names from across different strata of societyâ€™s endeavor.â€ She added.
Continuing,Â Stella explained that â€œAlso, the idea is to enable the audience to meet with up, who theyâ€™d like to meet and never and perhaps will never have the opportunity to meet. At this show, they will have the opportunity of interacting with them in a convivial atmosphere and even get a handshake , collect autographs and take snap shots if they like.
â€œThis is one show that people can come and relax and unwind; andÂ be able to talk and establish new lines of friendship and business relationships.â€ She said.
Beyond the interface of meeting important personalities, Stella also promisesÂ the audience a full entertainment dose as according to her, her musical band will be on ground to provide musical interludes coupled with guests appearancesÂ to be made by Shina Peters, Tuface, Banky W, Keffe, Omawumi, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal and PASUMA among others.
At this maiden edition of the Hook Up show to be chaired by Media Chieftain, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the show promises to bring aroundÂ such other important personalities like Keni Nelson, RemiÂ Adiuku, Mrs Iguibor, Dele George, Oprah Benson, Rosemary Okeke, former Miss Nigeria and popular Lagos Lawyer, Festus Kayamo to add colour and dignity to the show.
