Nigeria’s Under-20 team, the Flying Eagles left for South Africa yesterday to participate at a Cape Town invitational tournament, without Stanley Okoro and Sani Emmanuel.

Flying Eagles coach, John Obuh disclosed that the duo who impressed at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup had gone to Europe for trials and would not be part of the tournament, Cape Town is using to test run its facilities for the World Cup starting in June. South Africa, Brazil, Ghana and Nigeria are the four nations that will vie for honours in the tournament.

Obuh is taking along most of the Eaglets players who lost to Switzerland in the final of  the FIFA Under_17 2009 World Cup, decided at the National Stadium Abuja.

The coach disclosed that the tournament, will afford him the opportunity to access the players and their readiness for the 2011 African Youth Championship qualifiers.

Obuh is moving up to a new responsibility after his somewhat successful run with the under-17 team last year.
