Not that it was planned this way but players and officials of Enyimba of Aba and Bayelsa United will be having a jolly Easter while other Premier League clubs sweat it out today and tomorrow (Easter Sunday) in week 27 of the on-going Premier League season. The teams will be playing their week 27 Premier League matches on Thursday courtesy of continental engagements involving Heartland FC and Warri Wolves.
League leaders Enyimba say although their players are not officially on break for the Easter celebration, they will have the opportunity to celebrate with other Christians as they celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Like Enyimba, Bayelsa United players will equally be having fun as their fixture against fourth position Warri Wolves comes up on Thursday. Back to this weekend’s games, all eyes will be on the tie between Rangers FC and visiting Ocean Boys.
Rangers appear to have dropped the baton and the Bayelsa side do not look like a team ready to do any magic. Bayelsa United, defending champions of the Glo Premier league, appear to have too many internal hurdles, a feat that has seen the team languish at the lower ranks of the table.
Rangers no doubt are hungry for the three points and coach Alphonsus Dike knows that three points are very good not just for the club but for him as well. The coach who was given a two-match ultimatum appears to have regained the confidence of Rangers management but that may be temporary if he fails to win tomorrow and convincingly too.
