Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido, has described the return of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) as shameful, saying that his return to the party has vindicated allegations he made against the party in 2007.
“After leaving the party, and taking the party to court, Atiku is shamelessly coming back to the party, despite all the allegations he made against the party. It is clear that the allegations against the party was wrong,†he added.
Governor Lamido who stated this in Dutse said it was obvious that Atiku left the party because he was not given the party’s mandate to contest for the presidential position in PDP during the 2007 elections.
“We all know the reason why Vice president Atiku left the PDP in 2007. After serving this country as vice president for 8years, he selfishly wanted to be given the mandate again to rule for another 8years. And when he failed to get it, he opted for AC where he was given the ticket he wanted’, he added.
He further alleged that all those influential party members who left the PDP in 2007 and returning to the party like Atiku, thought the party would crumble when they opted out, and because they were wrong, they are now rushing back for good.
