Â Umuahiaâ€”Three new Permanent Secretaries appointed by the Abia State Government have been sworn-in by Governor Theodore Orji. They are Mr. Mac-Steve Nwejike, Mr. Nkwachukwu Agomuo and Mr. John Irokansi.
Â In his remark at the ceremony held at the Government House Umuahia, GovernorÂ Orji said the event was significant as it highlights the continuous nature of government.
Â The Governor said that his administration will continue to appoint deserving civil servants as well asÂ strengthen the machinery of government, adding that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries have acquitted themselves well in their duty posts. Governor Orji pointed out that his administration believes in rewarding excellence and hard work and charged the new appointees to see their elevation as a call to higher service. He charged them to act as role models to the junior ones.
Â He said that he reposes a lot of confidence in them and urged them to justify the trust, adding that he will appoint only those who support his administration.
Â The Governor also educated civil servants in the state that appointment to the post of Permanent Secretary was at the discretion of the Governor, who reservesÂ the right to appoint whoever he wants.
