Determined to provide the needed platform to accelerate the emergence of a cash less economy ValuCard Nigeria PlcÂ redeemed prizes for the first series of draws in the on going â€œValuCard Hopes & Dreamsâ€ promo, a FIFA 2010 World Cup usage campaign by the company courtesy of Visa International.
In his remarks during the prize presentation ceremony, Kyari Bukar, managing director, ValuCard Nigeria Plc, said â€œThis is a great beginning. Doing things like this would encourage the usage of cards in our payment system.
The partnership is not only with the banks and its customers; it extends beyond that to the cardholders and also to the merchants. So, we believe that the value proposition in accepting cards is far more and I suppose that if we collectively decide to change the way Nigerians consider e-payment, this is going to be a great start.â€ he said.
Also, speaking at the event , Chioma Nkechika, head of Card Services, Zenith Bank Plc responding on behalf of the bank thanked ValuCard for encouraging the growth in the card payment industry.

The prize presentation which took place at the companyâ€™s corporate head office had the ValuCard team led by its managing director, Mr. Kyari Bukar, Zenith Bank team,Â the deposit bank and issuing bank for the winnersâ€”both on the merchants and cardholdersâ€™ categories, andÂ the lucky winners.
The Zenith bank team had Chioma Nkechika, head of Card Services, Ugochukwu Eze and Emenike Ibiabaka for E-business.
In the cardholdersâ€™ category, Ikenna Victor Odigbo and Alata Akeem won all-expense paid trips to watch the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa with a partner, while Mega Investments (Mega Plaza) Limited and Cybercafe Restaurant Limited are winners of N1,000,000.00 each on the merchant category.
