Six arraigned over Agbarho killing

THE Zone 5 division of the Nigerian Police handling the murder case of Messrs Isaac Ukanefimoni and Ovuoke Obie has arraigned six suspects before the Magistrate Court II at Agbarho, Delta State.

The suspects were arraigned on a 3-count charge of felony and unlawful murder of the victims in charge No. MCA/12C2010.

The accused persons, Messrs Bus Akponine, 39; Gift Emovulodua, 32; Samson Ighovo, 38; Stanley Esegine, 30  and their leaders, Neworld Ojevwe, 42 and Otarighobe Solomon, 41 were later remanded in prison custody till 30 March 2010 when the case is billed for hearing.

The accused were said to have conspired among themselves to commit felony and unlawful murder offences punishable under sections 324 and 319 of the criminal code, Cap 48, Vol. II, laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria as applicable in Delta State.

This was contained in the charge sheet signed by ASP Richard Balogun, with the police team being led by CSP JAW Abutu, second-in-command Zone 5 Criminal Investigation Department, Benin-City.
