WARRI—Okpe local government area of Delta State is to spend N1, 913,396,200.00 for the 2010 fiscal year, with  capital expenditure alloted over 56 percent of the total sum.

This was revealed by Chairman of the council, Dr. Joseph Otirhue, during the budget presentation to the legislative arm on Tuesday at the legislative chambers at Orereokpe.

According to Dr. Otirhue “this budget is tagged Budget of Consolidation because it will lay emphasis on completion of all the on-going projects embarked  upon in 2009.

“However, we will focus greatly on human capital development to enable our people fit into the present technological development of the larger society.”

He noted that his administration will not hesitate to embark on any project that will be of tremendous and immediate benefit to the people of the local government area.

Otirhue said the budget, which is slightly higher than the 2009 estimate, was based on revenue projection from the federal, internal revenue, VAT allocation, excess crude fund, among others.
