Imoke’s entourage in auto crash

CALABAR—Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross Rivers State weekend escaped unhurt as his entourage was involved in a minor accident.

The governor and his entourage were involved in the accident some few kilometers to Obudu Cattle Ranch.
A statement issued by Mr. Patrick Ugbe, the Chief Press Secretary and Special Assistant, Media, to the governor, noted that the entourage was on its way to Obudu Mountain Resort when the accident occurred about 2 km from the resort.

According to the statement, the entourage was returning from a funeral wake keep of late Chief Stephen Agba, a PDP stalwart at Obudu, and late Madam Ayade, the mother of Prof Ben Ayade, another PDP stalwart in the state, when the accident occurred.

He said no one was hurt in the governor’s entourage.

The governor was also billed to attend the funeral of the pioneer PDP Chairman in Cross River State, Rev. Benedict Ikobi, the statement further noted.
