Elechi, Egwu parley on Ebonyi PDP crisis

ABAKALIKI—THE factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ebonyi State,  Mr. Dave Umahi, has disclosed that the leader of the party in the state, Governor Martin Elechi and the Minister of Education, Dr. Sam Egwu,  recently held a crucial meeting, where they discussed issues bordering on the 2011 general elections and  on how to move the party forward.

Umahi, who made the disclosure during a PDP rally at Cent Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state,  said that the two party stakeholders, were working hand in hand to ensure that peace and stability reign in the party, adding that the party will continue to honour the former Governor of the state, Dr. Egwu for his contributions to the growth and development of the party in the state.

The chairman emphasized that the negative efforts by politicians, who are trying to cause acrimony among the two party chieftains, will not hold water, adding that the Governor of the state had expressed absolute forgiveness to all those who had skimmed against the party.

Umahi also declared that Governor Elechi had accepted to stand for the primaries in the forthcoming elections and solicited for prayers to be made for the Governor, who has contributed immensely to the physical development of the state, in the areas of roads, water, electricity and general administration.
