CNPP lauds Orji over appointment

By Kingsley Omonobi

ABUJA—The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP, has commended the Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji for accommodating members of other political parties in his cabinet and even giving appointments to some of them in addition to supporting these parties in other ways.

CNPP Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu said in a statement that Orji has shown a clear understanding of the true position of things that the conference is not an opposition group but an umbrella body for political parties to interact for national good.

The statement said, “the culture of accepting political parties that contested election against your party is one of those things missing in the polity. If state governors and those at federal level will only understand this concept then the problem of the politics of desperation is half solved.”

“Orji has clearly demonstrated that there is a better way to relating with other political parties instead of forcing their members to decamp to the ruling party, usually under duress and intimidation.”
