Accord Party chieftain decamps to PDP

By Festus Ahon

UGHELLI—THE governorship candidate of Accord Party, AD, in the 2007 general election in Delta State, Mr Peter Osalor, has decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Osalor, who declared for the PDP at Oleh, Delta State, last weekend, said he decided to decamp to the PDP because the entire people of Isoko ethnic nationality belonged to the ruling party.

He said it was imperative for him to be in the same party as his people and noted that one could only serve effectively if he was in the same place as his people.

Maintaining that as far as Isoko was concerned there was only one political party, Osalor said: “You cannot be effective when you are not in the same camp with your people. I have joined the PDP because my people belong to the PDP.”

Osalor expressed his readiness to serve the party diligently and wholeheartedly at all times.
A member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Mrs Stella Omu, while welcoming Osalor and three other decampees into the party, enjoined them to identify with the ideals and aspirations of the party.
