010: FIFA accredits Nigerian tour brokers

As part of its efforts to ensure seamless travel arrangements for football fans traveling to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has appointed a Nigerian tour operator Tour Brokers International, as its accredited Tour Operator for the Mundial.

The Nigerian Football Association has also endorsed the accreditation, while FIFA has already listed them on their web.  Tour Brokers International (TBI) is South African Airways Award-Winning best tour operator.

By this accreditation, TBI is allowed to provide accommodation, transportation and related travel services together with match tickets sold on behalf of FIFA.  It is also to promote and market the 2010 World Cup in Nigeria through the use of FIFA-approved and all inclusive travel packages.

The appointment of reputable tour operators by FIFA Worldwide is targeted at facilitating safe and effective travel to the matches for the largest possible number of fans, and make the best possible use of available accommodation, ground and air transportation facilities.

The Managing Director of TBI, Mrs Uloma Egbuna explained that the world football governing body, FIFA would provide for purchase match tickets, accommodation, transfers and will also monitor “our International flight ticket request, for which we will need to provide proof to FIFA that we have enough international flight tickets to cover the Match tickets and accommodation purchased from them”.
