By Henry Umoru

ABUJA— A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, Dr. Goodnews Agbi has warned politicians against playing politics with what is constitutional about President Umaru Yar’Adua handing over  to Vice President Goodluck Jonathan in an acting capacity.

Agbi who noted that it has become imperative for politicians to differentiate politics and personal interests from Nigeria’s general interest, as well as the constitution, warned that Nigeria is a very fragile country which must be guided with all honesty.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the former Delta State governorship aspirant who commended the former Federal Commissioner, Chief Edwin Clark for his role in finding solution to the present political quagmire, eminent Nigerians, media executives as well as the Civil Society Organisations, said members of the National Assembly and the Federal Executive Council, FEC, must ensure that the process of transmitting power to Jonathan was done immediately.

According to him, “we politicians should be careful so that we don’t let the country aground. I will also use the opportunity to commend some national leaders, especially Chief E.K Clark for the role he played, he is really a father of the nation, trying to talk to everybody to come down, things will be okay, holding series of meeting at his age in the midnight.

I think we should also commend the Vice President for the decorum he has shown and I feel that we should listen to elderstatesmen like Ekwueme, Shagari, media executives and others”.
