ABAKALIKI—A socio-political interest youth organisation, Ochudo Youth League has given reasons why so many similar groups in Ebonyi State are clamouring for the state Governor, Chief Martin Elechi to run for a second term, adding that it was because of the Governor’s integrity, probity and accountability.
The group, named after Governor Elechi’s title (Peacemaker) added that at the age of 28, Elechi had held sensitive and tasking positions over the years and came out better. “He faced over 20 probe panels without blemish. He refused to be undaunted and gave 39 years of his life struggling for the creation of Ebonyi State.
“That means that he has a vision and so there is no need to look elsewhere because we have not been disappointed since the projects he has embarked upon in the state are meant to last for generations. That is the vision we are talking about,†said the group’s Publicity Director, Chooks Okoh, while briefing newsmen at Abakaliki.
The group, which noted that it would eventually turn into a non-governmental organisation, charged the people of Ebonyi State to insist that Elechi comes back for a second term, promising to purchase the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, nomination form for the Governor as soon as the forms are on sale.
