S-East PDP warns members

By Tony Edike

ENUGU—DISTURBED by its loss in the February 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  South East Zone yesterday, warned that it would no longer tolerate any act of indiscipline by its members in all the five states of the zone, especially as the party strategises for the 2011 general elections.

National Vice Chairman of the party in the zone, Chief Olisa Metuh, who handed down the warning in a statement in Enugu, expressed disappointment over the defeat of the party’s candidate in Anambra election, Professor Charles Soludo, noting that the major reason for the loss may not be unconnected to the serious acts of indiscipline by some of its members.

He warned the recently formed parallel executive of the party in Ebonyi State, under Chief Adol Awam to immediately pledge their loyalty to the recognised party leadership in the state under Chief Dave Umahi, noting that the party remained totally opposed to any act that would cost it next year’s elections.
