Plateau NUJ flays harassment by security agents

By Taye Obateru

Jos — The Plateau State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has frowned at what it called the harassment of its members by security men in the wake of the recent crisis in the state.

The council, in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Katdapba Gobum and Secretary, Isaac Shobayo, also expressed concern over the invitation of the GM of the state radio-television corporation (PRTVC), Mr. Abraham Yiljap, to the Police Force Headquarters to answer charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbances, armed with dangerous weapon and culpable homicide in the recent crisis.

It said it was worried that such allegations would be made against the head of a media organisation in his official capacity.
