Onovo tasks policemen on professionalism

By Okey Ndiribe

THE Nigerian Policemen have been advised against adopting an attitude of complacency in order to consolidate successes they have recorded in recent times in the discharge of  their duties. This call was made by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ogbonna Onovo yesterday.

He further stated that the police arrested no fewer than 230 electoral offenders during the last gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

The Police boss further stated that it was the high level of professionalism displayed by policemen during the Anambra poll that ensured the peaceful and orderly manner in which it was conducted, adding that so far the police had provided adequate and impartial security during the recent elections in four states including  Anambra, Edo, Jigawa and Ekiti.

However, the police boss advised his men against complacency “in the wake of successes recorded in recent times in the discharge of national duties.”
