The Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Awka Branch has expressed satisfaction with the February 6 election in Anambra State, describing it as “free and fair,†contending that the result as announced is a true reflection of the will of the people expressed through their votes.
In a letter to Governor Peter Obi on his victory, the association argued that the mandate given to him is a confirmation of the people’s love for him and appreciation of his style of leadership and governance.
They went on to interpret it as evidence that the governor has done so well so far. They reminded him that the renewal of his mandate is an opportunity for him to further endear himself to the people. They however called on him to address the issue of judiciary workers’ strike.
Similarly, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Awka Zone has commended the governor on his victory. The NMA, in a letter, said, “Obi’s victory is a massive expression of support by the people of Anambra State for the continuity of the aggressive infrastructural, educational, health and economic development taking place in Anambra State.â€
