The Information Technology Association of Nigeria, (ITAN), in  collaboration with  Quality Assurance Institute (QAI),  have announced a strategic partnership with QAI’s services offerings.

The President of ITAN , Dr. Jimson Olufuye who hailed the partnership in a statement said that, “I am extremely excited about our new partnership with QAI.. With ITAN’s desire to promote relevant parts of ICT opportunities and Governments strategic plan for Nigeria’s ICT development; and to improve ‘IT industry competiveness’ in Nigeria, and QAI delivering Quality Assurance and Project Management services, we have a very powerful solution that appeals to anyone wanting to improve their processes, ICT standard and project management practices. In particular, organizations wanting to advance through the Capability Maturity Model® (CMM®) levels will benefit significantly from this partnership.”

For Ashish Sehdev, Lead, ICT Capacity Building, of QAI Global, said that , “QAI’s strategic alliance with ITAN will benefit our customers by reducing the time and effort required to achieve their specific quality goals.”

He outlined the  broad scope of services, programs and initiatives under the objectives of this partnership to be as below:

lBuild awareness amongst Nigerian IT organizations regarding various aspects of Operational and Business Excellence.
lAssist IT organizations to develop and implement a comprehensive ‘Operations Excellence’ roadmap that enhances their global competitiveness.

lDeploy global frameworks, standards and certifications for the IT industry such as: Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI®), People Capability Maturity Model (PCMM®), ISO 20000, ITIL, CoBIT, 6-Sigma and others, in order to improve competitiveness, attract outsourcing  opportunities, and promote Nigeria as a ‘high quality ICT destination’.

lCreate and implement industry wide projects for ‘Enterprise Capability Building’ in areas such as, but not limited to Software Process Improvement, Business Process Improvement, Outsourcing Management, Quality Management, IT Governance, Innovation Management, Human Capability Management, Program & Project Management, Software Engineering, Software Testing Centers.

lCreate and implement ‘Workforce Development’ initiatives for the IT industry through various mechanisms such as talent assessments, competency building workshops, global professional certifications, seminars, event and conferences.

lJointly conduct Industry Research and Surveys on specific areas in context of this MoU.
