Firm petitions police commission over trespass

Zee International Limited has petitioned the Police Service Commission over an alleged incessant harassment, molestation, intimidation and trespass by the police authorities in  Oyo State on  a parcel of land it purportedly acquired for its head office in Lagos.

In the petition, the company said  it bought the  land measuring about 200.343 acres at the Oniturupu village, near Oja’badan along Ibadan-Lagos Expressway, Ibadan from the accredited representatives of the family in Oyo State and had been enjoying quiet and peaceful possession of the land since 1999.

According to the petition, Zee International also carried out a comprehensive survey plan which was lodged in the Surveyors General’s  Office in Ibadan in 2001 and which was also lodged together with the architectural and structural designs to obtain approval with Approval Plan Number 525\OLG1\C\10324 from the Oluyole Local Government Planning Authority signed by the Local Government  chairman.

The firm alleged that while construction was going on in the premises, police officers from the state police command stormed the premises, stopped the construction work and detained the workers at a police station in Ibadan.
