By Simon Ebegbulem, Benin City
A Chieftain of the Action Congress (AC)  in Edo state, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to accept the change of leadership in the state House of Assembly so as to stop creating “unnecessary” tension in the state.

Meanwhile, the newly elected Speaker of the House, Mr Bright Omokhodion, yesterday, met with staff of the Assembly and stressed the need for them to work harmoniously in the interest of the people of the state.

Inegbeneki, who was formerly the youth leader of the PDP in the state and a close political ally to the former Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, spoke to newsmen in Benin City, stated that the allegation that only 13 members of the House signed the impeachment notice on ex Speaker Zakawanu Garuba was untrue, adding that 16 members signed but that after the PDP lawmakers who signed went to Abuja to on the orders of a national leader of the party, “they changed their minds because they have collected money.”
