150 Itsekiri indigenes get free surgeries

WARRI — MORE than 150 Itsekiri indigenes have undergone free  surgeries for hernia, appendicitis, lymphoma and fibroid as well as circumcision and other cases in the on-going free health medical programme of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) for Itsekiri communities.

According to a source, the free surgery, which took place at the Shell Health Centre, Omadino, Warri South local government area of Delta State, was specifically on dental and general surgeries as well as free drug administration for post-operative cases.

Cases of tooth extraction, tooth scaling and polishing were handled by DESOPADEC doctors during the exercise.
Mr. Godwin Tinomima, 58, and Mrs. Joy Owumi, 43, whose hernia and Myome-tomy fibroid were success-fully operated, thanked God for the exercise and wished Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan better days ahead and God’s guidance.
