PPA greets Nigerians, seeks agenda on youths

PROGRESSIVE Peoples Alliance, PPA, is calling for a national agenda that will see more attention being given to the development of youths. The PPA national chairman, Engr. Larry Esin, in his new year message to Nigerians, urged government to see the youths as assets that should not be toyed with.

Esin’s advice came against the backdrop of the Nigerian youngster who attempted to blow up a plane in the United States, US, on the strength of his religious belief.

The PPA chairman described the youths as the leaders of tomorrow, saying conscious efforts must be made to develop them and guide them aright.

“Granted that education is crucial to the development of our youths, we should strive to develop them holistically. This is an area in which government has to collaborate with parents. The measure of success that we achieve in this regard will determine how high the future of our country will be because, whether we like it or not, the youths of today are tomorrow’s leaders”, he stated.

Esin is optimistic that the year 2010 has good things in stock for Nigerians but implored the people to take their destinies in their hands especially since this year is the eve of the next general elections. “This is taking into cognisance the fact that we need to do the right thing in the 2011 polls”, the PPA chairman added.
