By  Dennis Agbo

AWKA—ACTION Congress, AC, governorship candidate in the February 6 election in Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige has pledged to generate 300 megawatts through a proposed state Independent Power Plant in the second quarter of administration, if elected the Governor.

Ngige said Anambra people should be able to hold him by his words, given his 33 months antecedent as Governor of the state. He noted that the energy would be harnessed from Anambra Rivers and gas turbines to generate the 300 megawatts to ensure that businesses and households do not suffer from the epileptic power supply  in the state.

Speaking at Onitsha , where he conferred with delegates of the Laity Council Diocese of the Niger, Ngige renewed his pledge to serve the state again and read out his three-point agenda, which he categorized as public safety and security; infrastructural development and social services and human resources development.

The former Governor said “a well designed power project that will enable the supply of power to our people has been designed and will be flagged-off in the 2nd quarter of my assumption of office. This is to revive all comatose industries in our state and also help the informal sector.”
