Mariere tasks politicians on unity

UGHELLI—A director in Delta State Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education Board, Mr. Sam Mariere, has charged politicians across the country to be united in their  quest to take the country to its rightful socio-political and economic height.

Mariere, who spoke during the opening ceremony of the maiden edition of Olorogun Otega Emerho Unity Cup Competition at Evwreni, Ughelli North local government area, Delta State, said unity was all that was needed for accelerated development of the country.

He noted that it was only when politicians came together that they could project themselves politically, adding that disunity was a cankerworm against the political progress of the country.

Mariere urged all Deltans to work assiduously towards the re-election of the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and stressed that the governor had performed exceedingly well in the implementation of his three- point agenda.

“The Uduaghan administration has brought good things to the people of this State, so all Deltans should come together to support the present administration. They should all come out and support our goal that the governor returns in 2011,” he said.

While acknowledging Olorogun Otega Emerho as their political leader, the Board Director expressed the readiness of Evwreni politicians to give their total support to the administration of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

He said the Unity Cup Competition was being organized to foster unity amongst the people of the kingdom and disclosed that the naming of the event after Olorogun Emerho was in acknowledge of his contribution to the Evwreni kingdom.
