Kanu refutes dressing room unrest in Eagles

Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu said that the team is focused on playing to win against Egypt in their group C opener Tuesday, rather than being distracted by reports of dressing room unrest in the camp.

There have been reports that Kanu and other key players questioned the tactics and selections made by coach Shaibu Amodu.

“It is all lies. People are just spreading rumours to destabilise our team,” Kanu insisted.
“The coach is the Kanuone who selects the team and, if we have our opinion as players, it is just to make suggestions, and not to question him or his decisions.”

The Eagles trained yesterday at the Nacional Clube‘s stadium, in the central Benguela Province with emphasis on physical fitness and ball possession.
