KADUNA—THE Kaduna State government yesterday said it had so far completed about N15 billion road projects which it inherited from the previous administration.
The government also assured that it would provide more road networks and bridges, including a fourth bridge across the Kaduna River soonest to link the north and the southern parts of the metropolis as well as ease the movements of goods and services.
The state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Sidi, made this known while addressing a news conference in his office.
Sidi said the road projects which were completed were still at the conception stage when the present government of Governor Namadi Sambo came into office, pointing out that as a PDP government, the present administration in the state does not believe in abandoning projects started by the previous administration.
According to Commissioner Sidi, it was because of this that Sambo directed that the contracts for the road projects be formalised and constructed, pointing out that all the roads constructed had engineering designs unlike in the past when contracts were awarded without such designs and estimates.
