ABUJA—The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, sealed off 17 more properties linked to the former Managing Director of Oceanic Bank Plc, Mrs Cecilia Ibru in Abuja and Lagos.
This was coming as Mrs Ibru told a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, that the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Lamido Sanusi was frustrating her efforts to travel abroad for medical treatment.
She is to face fresh 25 count charge bordering on granting of N170 billion and N51million dollar unsecured loans.
At the resumed hearing yesterday, her counsel, told the court that she (Mrs Ibru) could not travel out of the country owing to the refusal of the State Security Service, SSS, to release her international passport seized prior to her detention, further alleging that the SSS was working on the instruction of the CBN Governor, who she alleged, instructed them to hold on to her passport.
The consultant cardiologist treating Mrs. Ibru, who was also brought to court, said the worsening health situation was caused by her inability to travel to attend to her medical conditions abroad after securing the court order, which was caused by the refusal of SSS Director General to release her (Ibru) passport.
