Awka – GOVERNORSHIP candidate of Action Congress (AC) in the February 6 election in Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige, and members of the Onitsha Main Market Association of Traders Union (OMMATA) have reached an agreement on how to improve the fortunes of the business community in the state if he wins the election.

The traders had during an interaction with Ngige when he visited them during their weekly prayer meeting in Onitsha that they needed to extract the agreement from the AC candidate before going into the election, adding that with the agreement, he is assured of their votes.

Essentially, both parties agreed that the administration of Ngige would rebuild the market so that it would regain its position as the largest market in West Africa, facilitate the development of maritime business in the commercial town after the on-going dredging of the River Niger, set up an Independent Power Plant (IPP) to ensure steady power in the area and establish continuing education centers at the various markets to enable the traders acquire further education while still carrying out their businesses.

They commended Ngige for embarking on massive road construction during his previous tenure as governor and hoped that he would reenact the same performance if voted into office next month.

Ngige, who commended the traders for the confidence reposed in him, pledged not to disappoint the people of Anambra State .

He also promised to work with all capable hands in the state irrespective of their religious inclinations.
