Having finished year 2009 on a low note, Shooting Stars General Manager Mutiu Adepoju is disappointed but confident that the New Year will bring good tidings to his Ibadan based side.
Shooting making a comeback to the elite division this season, has found the goings very tough in the Premier League. While teams like Warri Wolves, Heartland FC, Enyimba and Rangers are doing well in the league, 3SC has battled with finding their feet in the league, where they held sway some years back. The Oluyole Warriors can’t seem to be able to get their rhythm.
Before the Christmas break Shooting struggled at the relegation zone making frantic efforts to better their placement but to no avail.
Adepoju though disappointed with the team’s poor performance believes, the team is been knocked into shape and will produce better results in the New Year.
“Our performance to say the least has not been encouraging, it’s been poor and we are working hard so that the New Year will bring something better.
Like most teams, we have recruited some players and we are working very hard on the defence and attack. That is where we have identified as our weak points and we have plugged the loophole. This year, we will work hard to ensure that we get a better position in the league and nothing will stop usâ€, Adepoju said
