Umuahia—ABIA State Government says it will establish a cement factory in Arochukwu.
Already, bid for the project has been won by the Hermes Juno Consortium. The project, government said, will provide jobs for the people.
Governor Theodore Orji, who disclosed this in his television and radio address to the people of Abia State, also announced that the government will this year, focus on important projects that would touch the lives of the people.
To this end, he disclosed that the government had set up an Inter-ministerial action committee to recommend high-benefit projects for the various sectors of Abia State, which the government can start and complete within the year.
Orji promised that 2010 shall be brighter and a more fulfilling year for the people of Abia State.
The Governor regretted that the global economic meltdown and the banking reform affected the performance of the government in 2009.
