By  Anayo Okoli

Umuahia—AGAINST the build-up to 2011 general elections, Governor Theodore Orji has said that he will soon make known his future political plans, adding that for now, he was concentrating on how to develop Abia State.

Orji said he had received many representations on the issue, and pleaded with his supporters to exercise patience, promising not to disappoint them.

Governor Orji, who made this known in his New Year address, said he would get back to the people on the issue. He also called on those he said had made running down his administration a past time, to have a rethink and change their heart, so that they can build Abia together.

“As we enter of the year 2010, political activities in the state will heighten and a lot of aspirations will come to the fore. I have received numerous representations and enquiries as regards my political future. For now, my immediate task is to render quality services to Abians, when the time comes to make a pronouncement on my political future,  I will make my stand known loud and clear.

“I will plead with those who have made running down this administration a past time to have a change of heart. I make bold to say that no individual could be more fortunate than me in assuming a position of leadership. I have dedicated my life to serving the people of Abia State and I will serve you truthfully and with every sense of responsibility.

“I pledge here today that the Abia State Government under my leadership will always put the people of Abia State first in all that we shall do, because we are your leaders. You chose us to lead you. That is a sacred responsibility, which we hold in trust and we promise that we will not fail you,” he added.
