By Festus Ahon
UGHELLI — THE Urhobo Political Forum (UPF) weekend endorsed Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and his deputy, Professor Amos Utuama (SAN), for a second term in office come  2011.

On his part, Utuama urged Urhobo nation to close ranks and continue to give their unalloyed support to the administration of Uduaghan and also stand behind him for the 2011 governorship polls.

The National Chairman of the UPF, Chief Ighoyota Amori, in his address at the forum’s end-of-year party held at Mosogar, Delta State, declared the support of the group for Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Utuama’s administration and pledged to work for their return come 2011.

He said:  “It is our responsibility and interest of Urhobo people, who we represent, to commend our amiable governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, on his great stride in the development of our dear state, and to assure him that Urhobo people are unequivocally and solidly behind him in his second term project.

“We commend our son, Professor Amos Utuama (SAN), for doing us proud in his office as the deputy governor of Delta State, and we wish to assure you to count on our support at all times.” He urged all Urhobo sons and daughters to give total support to the administration of Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, as he strives to take Delta State to yet another level of advancement.

Utuama, in his remark, commended the UPF for its unalloyed support for the administration of Uduaghan and for endorsing the administration for a second term in office.

“You said it loud and clear that you do not know any other government, neither do you know any other assignment for governorship election in 2011. What else do you expect but for us to believe that you are loyal faithfuls of the PDP,” he said.

The deputy governor said “I have no doubt in my mind that you are a worthy leader of the PDP and that you are faithful to the policy of PDP and that you are loyal to the leadership of the PDP.”

Thanking the group for endorsing the governor and himself for the 2011 gubernatorial election, Utuama said “as you have endorsed us, God will continue to endorse you, your family, UPF and the Urhobo nation.

“We want to identify fully with you that the time has come when all Urhobos should  close rank because in unity lies our strength. We must work together under the umbrella of PDP and of our governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan as the candidate of PDP in 2011.”
