Suswam commended

BENIN — A businessman of Benue State extraction resident in Benin-City, Mr. Itachu Ugbu Mac, has lauded the developmental efforts of Governor Gabriel Suswan.

He said that since Suswan’s assumption of office in 2007, the governor had created a conducive atmosphere for investors to come into the state.

Particularly, he praised the governor for empowering the youths in the state especially in the area of job creation and the offering of micro credit facilities to enable them to be self employed.

Mr. Itachu who spoke with journalists in Benin yesterday, was happy that Governor Suswan has been able to touch the lives of rural dwellers in the state through the provision of potable water, electricity, health centres among other amenities.

According to him,” Governor Suswan has remained one governor that the state has produced who has been much closed to the rural dwellers. He has impacted on the lives of the poor people of Benue state and I like his style of government”.

He however advised him to appoint only those who would assist him to carry the state forward into his cabinet.
He therefore called on the people of the state to support his re-election in 2011 to enable him consolidate on his achievements in the state.

The Benin based business man however has a hash words for representatives of his local government, Uju for abandoning the people once they get into elective positions.

He accused them of neglecting the youths under whose backs they rose to their present positions, adding that, “none of them have deemed it fit to give the youths scholarships, or empowered them to enable them to be self reliant”.

He warned them of the consequences of going back to the same youths during future elections if they failed to do something now to ameliorate their present hardship.
