Stop bringing hostages to Delta, ex-militant warns kidnappers

WARRI — EX-MILITANT leader of Deadly Underdogs in Warri North Council area of Delta State, General Ezekiel Akpasubewei, has warned kidnappers of all shades in the region to henceforth desist from bringing their hostages to Delta State.
General Ezekiel said when caught, they would be killed and their corpses handed over to the government.
He spoke exclusively to Vanguard, weekend, at  Koko General Hospital where a rescued lady, Mrs Joyce Onyeama, 39, kidnapped five days earlier at her residence in Ore, Ondo State and taken to Nana Creek area of Benin River, was receiving treatment.

Ezekiel advised parents to caution their children and wards against acts of kidnapping and other vices as they have keyed into the Federal Government’s amnesty programme.

Handing the light complexioned woman over to the Police, SSS and military Joint Task Force in Koko, Akpasubewei said the Federal Government should be given time and allowed to develop the region for the good of all. He also commended his boys for their bravery in securing the release of Mrs Joyce Onyeama.

Speaking to Vanguard after her recovery atKoko General Hospital, Mrs Onyeama thanked General Akpasubewei and his men for saving her life and gave her husband’s name and GSM number with which he was contacted and directed to Koko town.

Ezekiel commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for his steadfastness in supporting them in their time of need and charged everyone to queue behind him to take the state to greater heights.
