PDP chieftain tasks members on revalidation exercise

WARRI—EXECUTIVE Secretary to Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Chief Andy Osawota, has charged members of the party in the state, particularly in Orogun clan, to take active part in the ongoing revalidation exercise.
He also called on them to continually support the Uduaghan administration in order to enjoy more democracy dividends.

Chief Osawota made the call in Orogun Ward 1, Ughelli council area, during the flag-off campaign for the revalidation exercise which, he said, was meant for members to put their names in the party’s new register.

According to Chief Osawota, “I am using this opportunity to call on all members of our great party, the PDP, to revalidate their membership and ensure that their names are on the party’s register at the ward levels.”

Let all of us take advantage of this opportunity and work in unison to ensure that our great party gets re-elected into government House come 2011 with our amiable governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan as Governor”.

He said that as 2011 approaches, it is pertinent for members to ensure that their names are on the authentic party register to enable them have a say in the activities of the party and perform their civil duty of casting their votes for the candidate of the party at any election.

Registering the DESOPADEC Secretary, Deacon Lucky Esiokugbe, Chairman, Orogun Ward 1 of the PDP said that the party has introduced a new party card and as the leader of the party in the clan, Chief Osawota has to be registered first to flag-off the exercise in the area.

Said he: “We have registered our leader, Chief A.K. Osawota and other party leaders in the area. This revalidation exercise is to enable our members to put their names on the new party register. As we prepare for 2011 election, it is important for all members to get revalidated to participate in the ongoing exercise”.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the revalidation of Chief Osawota and he was handed his party Card No 001 with Serial No 905477.

Other party leaders that got revalidated include Chief Pius Ovwije Odioko, Mr. Meshach Anuku, Chief Shdreach Imoniruo among others.
