Oni urges rededication to God

ADO-EKITI—Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has urged  the people of the State to use the Christmas period to re-dedicate themselves to the service of God and work for the progress of the state.

Oni in his goodwill message to the people of the state equally urged them to obey the commandments of God and teach others to do the same.

“Since Jesus Christ whose birth we are celebrating obeyed the commandments of God, it follows that Christians, too, must keep the commandments and teach others to do the same.”

The governor noted that the people of the state have a special reason to be grateful to God, who according to him, has shown uncommon love to the State.

His words: “I want to use the occasion of Christmas to urge all Ekiti sons and daughters, both home and abroad, to rededicate themselves afresh to the service of the Almighty and total obedience of His laws.

“Christians in particular should continue to be obedient to the commandments of God as done by our Lord, Jesus Christ because He (Jesus) makes it very clear that those who follow Him and aspire to His Kingdom have a perpetual obligation to obey and uphold God’s law.

“The Holy Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ’s disapproval falls on those who slight the least of the law’s commands, and His honour will be bestowed on those who teach and obey the commandments”.
