NFF, PTF agree Amodu needs help

By Onochie Anibeze
The meeting of Presidential Task Force and the Nigeria Football Federation Tuesday night resolved that Green Eagles technical crew could be enriched but that time factor would not allow for any changes or inclusions before the Africa’s Nations Cup starting in Angola in January.

The meeting therefore endorsed the technical crew led by Amodu Shuaibu for the Nations Cup.

It simply follows that while the PTF admits that the technical crew, as it is constituted right now, needs help, the pendulum could swing totally in their favour and they will be left alone if they lead Eagles to Nations Cup victory or to a silver medal feat in Angola.

But in the event of a poor outing, more hands will be engaged to tinker the team to the World Cup. Amodu’s reaction to developments will also determine a lot as the PTF would encourage smooth and focused preparation for the World Cup.

“I want to commend Governor Rotimi Amaechi on how he conducted the meeting Tuesday night. It was masterfully done and I think even the Nigeria Football Federation that had been difficult has seen reason to have a broad view of things,” a member of the Task Force said of Tuesday meeting.
